March Beth Am Dayenu Circle Meeting

Beth Am Dayenu Circle (BADC) met on Sunday, March 13th to learn how you can electrify your home, and stop using polluting carbon-based energy. We heard from Scott Mellberg, Program Manager for the City of Palo Alto Utilities Department, and from Pamela Leonard, from Silicon Valley Clean Energy (SVCE). The speakers presented programs and incentives available to Peninsula residents who want to upgrade their residential appliances, including gas furnaces, water heaters and cook tops, with cleaner electric-powered alternatives.

February 2022 Beth Am Dayenu Circle Meeting

Beth Am Dayenu Circle (BADC) met on Sunday, February 13. Our guest speaker was Sandra Slater, Palo Alto Program Manager and Northern California Director of the Cool Block Program. The Cool Block Program has created a step-by-step methodology for neighbors to work together to implement solutions to reduce their household carbon impact. Sandra is responsible for the recruitment and coaching of Cool Block leaders and management of partnerships with the City of Palo Alto.

January 2022 Beth Am Dayenu Circle Meeting

Beth Am Dayenu Circle (BADC) met on Sunday, January 9th at 4:00 pm. Our guest speaker, Alice Sui, Associate Director of the Center for Deliberative Democracy at Stanford, discussed the Center’s successful program in which participants from across the political spectrum coalesced to recognize the imminent threat of climate change and agreed on real solutions.

An Eyewitness Account of the COP26 Glasgow Climate Summit

Pastor Danielle Parish, of Spark Church, was an official United Nations Conference Observer at this year's COP26 in Glasgow, Scotland. She shared a report on her experiences, key moments and decisions, and discussed how faith communities can continue to pursue justice in our current climate crisis. Beth Am Dayenu partnered with Congregations Kol Emeth and Etz Chaim, and with Spark Church for this event.
